Mad dogs and English men

29-Mar-2011 23:11, Sony Ericsson U20i, 0.033 sec, ISO 50

Only mad dogs and English men sit in the midday sun apparently, which is exactly what I have been doing on this fine day. The weather is fantastic, its like a typical English summer day here and its only March. Perfect.

I’ve decided to make a few changes on here, i.e. rewording a few of my pages and hiding some of the content, it will still be available but you will need that generic password I gave you (If I like you)

Updates*

I have decided to go on a massive health kick. No more chocolate or beer (Honest) and plenty of meat, veg, pulses, lentils and the odd bit of sunshine :)

In a completely unrelated move (see my last post) I have decided to book a flight home or I realised I will never actually return. 19th to the 29th of May.

This post isnt finished, I will do it later, the world is calling.

Home sick?

For the first time I experienced what COULD be described as home sickness. My friend Oliver was describing an attempt at cooking followed by a traditional English quaver sandwich.

I can’t imagine a Pole having a quaver sandwich.

Luckily this only lasted for approximately half a second and it may have actually been general nausea from my poor state of health.

Work is going well, I have an endless supply of chocolate in my current abode and Its going to be close to 20°C this week.

Plus 3 other particularly wonderful developments which I don’t feel like sharing just yet.

New home, new friends and bisexuals.

25-Mar-2011 12:53, Sony Ericsson U20i, 0.002 sec, ISO 40

I met some more nice folk a few nights ago at an “Event” that the yank organised. One couple in particular were very friendly and have offered me a place in their home for a while. I enjoyed a dangerous scooter ride with my huge backpack on and laptop in hand, lack of insurance was briefly on my mind but I certainly didn’t have the energy to walk!

I will be camped out here for the next week, I’m still a little reluctant to make “friends” with people when I know I am heading back to Krakow in a weeks time but its happening regardless. This country is the friendliest place on the planet.

Sexuality in Poland offers me nothing but confusion, I have had some very interesting conversations with native women in this country and it seems that 1 in 10 have some bisexual tendencies. Then they throw in a bit of Catholicism and everyone is happy?! Don’t believe my statistics though, perhaps it is coincidence and I just happen to meet these kinds of people.

Either way,  it certainly conjures up memories of a rather ridiculous ex girlfriend.

Wrocław

Wrocław seems nice, typically Polish.

I enjoyed another nose bleed in the street today. Since I have had this cold my nose has been like a tap, one little sniff or rub and my top lip and chin get a whole new look! Trying to recover to full health and chill out for a while but things here seem very promising so far. Check out the generic Rynek. All the cool Polish cities have them, I think Krakow wins this one.

Going to get settled in my new room today, in theory.. and then I should be able to start learning Polish. Either that, or having far too much fun.  I really should get back into the Polish though…. I havent looked at it for well over a Month.

My first visitor from England has booked a visit. Well done you!
